Sense8 is a science fiction television series created for Netflix by Lana and Lilly Wachowski with J. Michael Straczynski. The first season, consisting of 12 episodes, was released on June 5, 2015. On August 8 of the same year, the production of a second season was announced. The second season, announced on August 8, 2015, also signed by Netflix, will air during 2017, with a first episode already available for December 2016. Subsequently, Netflix announced the release of a special Christmas episode (of the duration of about 2 hours), released on December 23, 2016, and the start date of the second season, May 5, 2017, consisting of 10 episodes.
