Created by Ronald D. Moore, produced since 2014 and in its fifth season, the series is based on the saga of novels signed by Diana Gabaldon which tells the story of Claire, a time traveler and nurse - then a doctor - of the Second World War who, since 1945, is inexplicably found in Scotland in 1743.

Played by Caitriona Balfe, the woman gets trapped in the eighteenth century, where he falls in love with Jamie (Sam Heughan) and with whom he is then at the court of France and in America, shortly before the Revolution.

Story, fantasy, action and romance are all characteristics of the series, but are there any similar ones? Based on the novels of Julia quinn, created by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shonda Rhimes since 2020, #Bridgerton is set during the Regency Era in London's high society.

At the heart of the plot is the story of the Bridgerton family and the love relationship between Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) e Simon (Rege-Jean Page), Duke of Hastings.

The two meet on her high society debut. Initially, theirs will be born as a friendship, but the feeling between the two will grow over time, although their love will have to deal with Simon's past.

Created by Debbie Horsfield and produced from 2015 to 2019 for 5 seasons, #Poldark is another historical drama based on a series of novels: the series is, in fact, inspired by the saga of Winston Graham set in the XNUMXth century.

The protagonist is Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner), British soldier who returns to Cornwall after fighting in the American War of Independence for three years. To his enormous surprise, he discovers that things have changed a bit on his return.

His father is dead, his fiancée Elizabeth (Heida Reed) she is now promised to her cousin Francis (Kyle Soller) and the family mines are in ruins. Man must work to try to recover what can be saved and, in the meantime, take on a certain one Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) as a waitress.

Among the historical costume series that include romance and history, there is #The White Queen. 2013 miniseries, is set during the War of the Roses and tells of the conflict to obtain the throne of England, from the point of view of Elizabeth Woodville (Rebecca Ferguson).

Outlander speaks of time travel, as #Timeless. Produced from 2016 to 2018 for 2 seasons and created by Shawn Ryan ed Eric Kripke, the series follows the adventures of the history teacher Lucy Preston (Abigail Spencer) who, together with the scientist Rufus Carlin (Malcolm Barrett) and to the soldier Wyatt Logan (Matt Lanter), he must try to save American history.

A mysterious organization is, in fact, trying to rewrite history, using a time machine. While traveling through time, we meet historical figures such as Abraham Lincoln e Bonnie and Clyde, just to name a couple.

5 – 22.11.63

Inspired by the novel by Stephen King 22/11/63, #22.11.63 (11.22.63) is a miniseries produced in 2016 that - like Outlander - is about time travel and photographs a specific historical period.

In this case, the protagonist is the professor Jake Epping (James Franco) who finds himself traveling through time to try and prevent that John Fitzgerald Kennedy be killed.

Unfortunately, however, things are not as simple as they may seem: Lee Harvey Oswald (Daniel Webber), Sadie Dunhill (Sarah Gadon) and the past - which does not want to be changed - will complicate things for him.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is the Bridgerton prequel miniseries, written by Shonda Rhimes, which chronicles the life of the famous Queen Charlotte as a young man. Interestingly, the character is based on a real-life queen, Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Stretliz, who married King George III in 1761. In the Bridgerton series, Queen Charlotte is played by Golda Rosheuvel, a naturalized British Guyanese actress.

The miniseries premiered at the Netflix TUDUM 2022 event, and an image showing the actress playing Charlotte as a young man in costume was also shown: India Ria Amarteifio. The image is that of the cover of this article. A very nice clip from the series was also presented, which you see below:

In the video we see the future Queen Charlotte trying to climb a wall, unfortunately without success. A young man approaches her and tries to investigate the reasons that push the noblewoman to the enterprise; only at the end it turns out that the handsome and elegant boy is really King George!
