Monster cover: what we know (so far) from Ryan Murphy's Netflix series about serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer

Since it has been announced in October 2020, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, the new project by Ryan Murphy per Netflix, has made the hype of fans of the genre and fans of the director and screenwriter skyrocket. It's been a while since then, but now the miniseries from the creator of American Horror Story and American Crime Story is (finally) taking shape.

Production began on March 23, 2021 in Los Angeles and with the official start of work, new information has also arrived on the plot of Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and on the cast that will bring the dramatic, terrifying story of the serial killer to the screen. like the "monster of Milwaukee" and the "cannibal of Milwaukee".

Jeffrey Dahmer sadly went down in history for committing 17 murders between 1978 and 1991. The killer's victims were mostly African American and Asian homosexual boys and men, whom the killer approached in various ways. Dahmer would take the victims to his home, narcotize and strangle them and then wreak havoc on the corpses.

The killer ripped and dismembered the bodies, then kept some parts in the freezer as food, while others dissolved them in acid or stored them in formaldehyde. In some cases he has boiled the heads of the victims and painted their skulls. Sometimes he has practiced necrophilia with corpses and it appears that he has attempted lobotomy experiments on some victims.

Jeffrey Dahmer was captured on July 22, 1991 and sentenced tolife sentence for each murder committed. The "monster of Milwaukee" died in prison in 1994, following the attack of another inmate, Christopher Scarver.

How will Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story tell this terrible story? Here's everything we know (so far) about the 10-episode miniseries, for which a release date has not yet been indicated.

Monster's Story: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story tells the story of the notorious serial killer "largely" from the point of view of the victims. The miniseries deals with (at least) 10 cases in which Dahmer was stopped and on the verge of being arrested, but was ultimately released.

As the official synopsis explains, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story "plunges deep into the incompetence and apathy of the police," which left the killer to act undisturbed for 13 years, committing a series of brutal murders and terrible atrocities. .

In a closely related way, the miniseries also aims to investigate the "white privilege". This is because Dahmer, who was a good-looking, clean-faced white boy, could count more than once on the indulgence of police and judges when he was charged with petty crimes.
